Version 1.0 5th May, 2026
This Agreement is a simplified governance artifact for the Regen Commons Foundation Period, the phase between initial formation and ratification of the next Membership Agreement. It draws from the Regen Commons Constitution MVP developed through the 2025 Governance Activation process, pared down to what is essential and operational for an initial membership cohort.
This Agreement serves as the binding commitment for members during this interim phase — a lighter-weight container that preserves the DNA of the Commons while acknowledging the humbler scale at which we are currently operating.
By accepting membership, you consent to the terms of this Agreement and commit to participating in the life of the Commons in good faith.
You are free to take any action that fulfills the Purpose of this organization and the roles that you hold — as long as you do not violate any protocols, and you uphold the values and principles of this Agreement.
Regen Commons exists to provide the common ground for pooling and stewarding resources that support regenerative collective action. Rather than being the site of the work itself, the Commons enables it — gathering contributions of knowledge, capital, and care into a shared resource base that members can draw from. By holding these resources in trust and directing them toward regenerative efforts, Regen Commons strengthens the conditions for diverse communities and ecosystems to thrive.
To provide the common ground for individuals and organizations to pool resources, steward shared identity, and strengthen the foundations for coordinated regenerative action.
To develop and maintain commons-based governance, recognition, and coordination systems that enable individuals and organizations to pool resources and coordinate regenerative action.
As members of the Regen Commons, we hold these shared values:
